Zodiac marketing - fnally!
It has finally begun! Let's hope its not too late and the movie makes a killing at the BO. I have noticed little Zodiac ads all over the Internte - like on the ESPN website. But first up we have an interview with star Jake Gyllenhaal. Check out the video for yourself.
On the musical side Judy has given us a heads up on the movie's soundtrack which has a pretty interesting MySpace where you can preview some of the tracks. Now correct me if I'm wrong but is this the first time Fincher is using a contemporary pop soundtrack for one of his films?
I know I've been critical of the movie's marketing before but this seems like a cool approach. Wanted ads for the movie - seems interesting. The problem with these ads is that they are placed where very few people can see them. They should be in newspapers and the movies title and release date should be a hell of alot clearer. I've been thinking about this for a while and I also believe another interesting approach would be to publish some of the letters the Zodiac killer wrote and have them featured in Internet and newspaper ads!

I think the "wanted posters" are an interesting marketing tool, but I haven't seen any yet here in San Franciso (!) Maybe they'll appear in a few days...?

On another note and I'd appreciated your support here. We're curious to know from anyone who actually viewed the final cut of ZODIAC - Did the kids who play Jake's kids - 2 boys (Sauers - my sons) & 1 girl (can't remember her name), make the final cut? They'd be seen at about the 3/5 mark of the film. Love to know. It would help put some anxious hearts at rest.

Devoting nearly the whole hour of the tv show America's Most Wanted to Zodiac movie and the Zodiac killer and running Zodiac movie commercials during commercial breaks very smart.
